Brand New Year: Special Guests
The DMs are ringing '06 in like a bunch of pros.
We have some special guests tonight at DMs HQ. Happy anniversary, sweet friends. Thanks for coming all this way to totally jam out with us. We're so glad to have been a part of it all last year.

Thus far this week, we have written three new songs. They are all, I must say, awesome. I finally got Vince and Jesse to write a country-blues song, and got to live out the DREAM of wrangling up all my all-but-forgotten bad feelings about an old "relationship" and finally pushing them out in a song. It was hard. I barely remember feeling so foul about it -- a lot has happened since then -- but I did what I could and wound up with a nice little number called Voice on the Telephone. Or whatever, that's the title right now.

More later. Things are exploding.
Here's a picture of these crazy drunk Monroe girls, one of whom fell down in a parking lot of the CVS. Everyone was laughing so hard, no one could even help her up off the ground for a minute. And yet, I managed to take a picture. She was fine.

Nonstop
AB is not smoking in the house, so I don't know what you're talking about.

CAN YOU HEAR ME? Oh, the headphones.

This is where the magic happens.

DMs Christmas Letter: From Our Family to Yours

Music lovers everywhere: DMs.com is taking a small holiday hiatus. Just a short one, really, because in about a week, we'll be reunited and feeling so good and you know there will be pictures galore and possibly live clips of impromptu performances. Jesse won't be there, so these alleged performances won't be very good, sure, but you'll want to check in anyway, just for fun.
Meanwhile, enjoy this week of holiness. I personally know every single song, sacred and secular, ever written about Christmas, and I will be singing them all as we cross the Mighty Mississippi on our way to Monroe. I'll be thinking of all of you, I promise. You guys made 2005 pretty great for your Damn Millionaires. We've enjoyed these last several months quite a bit, getting this thing off the ground and into people's hands. I hope we can keep spreading the greatness up as '06 kicks off.
I think a real feather in our cap thus far has been this website, and I have to thank AB again for creating it and making it not only gorgeous but easy (just like herself! HA! Oh, no I di'in').
As a matter of fact, it's SO easy to use, any of these smelly boys could also be using it, but they seem incapable of doing so. Vince Chao loves the website, y'all, he's just too afraid of the Internet. I told him his fans were clamoring for more personal updates, but he was hesitant. "I can't do that," he insisted. "If I type something in there, it's likely to end up on Target.com, or something." Chris has been in school all semester, trapped under a stack of books, and has just been incapable of typing any words that aren't historically significant. Jesse, meanwhile, has been living the California lifestyle all the way across the country, all mysterious and three hours behind.
So, you've been stuck with me for the most part, and I am sorry about that, but I appreciate you tuning in. Stay with us, and we'll see you as we get ready to celebrate the brand new year.
Love, Al

Ho! Ho! Ho!
We think of it as a Santariffic greeting, but apparently in China, "ho ho ho" is something people say when they want you to pay attention.
So, do that, because as Santa would tell you himself, if you're going to order a DMs CD for yourself or a blessed loved one at this holiday time, you'd best get your ass on it, because our shipping machine is a thing of beauty and efficiency, but she can't control the USPS, and to receive in time, orders must be placed like, right now. NOW! HO HO HO!
The Damn Millionaires would like to wish you a Merry Christmas AND Happy Holidays.

NEXT.
Well, "Sweet Coffee, So Sweet" is off the list. I done jes' wrote some new words for it.

Al: This is why I have to write the songs.
Because if it were up to Vince and Jesse, these would be the songs on our next album:
1. It's a Sad, Sad World When You're Living in a Garbage Can
2. Garbage Can Remix: I've Got a Job/I've Got a Maid
3. Sweet Coffee, So Sweet
4. Pretty Flamingos
5. Little Bear (Living in the Woods)
6. Mattress Time in Slumberland
7. It's Cold Outside
8. F Song
9. Eight Pens on the Table
10. How Hot is Too Hot? (Short-Stop Bumper Crop)
11. Joey Chao Bonus Track: Sugganugga
That's a whole record right there, people. The music is already written. Well, kind of.
I know you want to hear those songs, but the only way you ever will is after we sell all of these very awesome albums.
Being in this band is so fun, for real. I hate it that they're so far away, even when they write songs about garbage cans. At least I have Chris to kick around.

As I am the last person in America without an iPod, I have to be super old-school and burn these to a CD so that I can work on lyrics in the great song-writing chamber: my car.
