Allison: Sunday Night
The Damn Millionaires are in the Magic City, where the magic happens. All The Damn Millionaires. Together. We are practicing RIGHT NOW and I am actually singing and writing this entry at the same time.
So... we are going to try to document this whole thing day by day, which should be doable as I understand, since I will apparently be doing a lot of sitting around while everybody else rocks.
I am no longer really nervous about this whole enterprise, just excited.
Please let me use a thousand words to paint a picture... because the camera is somewhere around here, and I can't get up to go find it. We are sitting in my mother's living room, and Chris is rocking out on this practice pad drum kit as if he was Neal Peart wailing away in his, as Chris calls it, "360 degree DRUM ENVIRONMENT" playing some song about a wildebeast or a kingly foe or whatever those Rush songs are about.
Anyway, he's playing that thing while wearing headphones attached to Vince's computer from which is issuing a click track that no one else can hear. Jesse is sitting on a piano bench where, over his shoulder, the 16-year-old me gazes out from my high school choir picture. Vince is the only one plugged in, and he is perched under one my mother's many, many fringed lamps. Me and AB are sitting on a loveseat, right next to each other, and I just sent her an e-mail. Eight inches away.
Meanwhile, our dog, The Deuce, chomps away on his squeaky elephant, trying to audition as the fifth millionaire. I'm not sure we'll let him in. How will we break it to him? Maybe as a bass roadie, or something.
They loaded in this afternoon at the studio, and all seems to be ready for non-stop rocking to begin tomorrow morning. OK, maybe I am a little nervous.
I should also note that AB Chao will be redesigning the site off and on during the week, so don't be surprised if you show up tomorrow and it looks different.

You know, I got this on my rss server last night (just found out how to use one) and saved it to read in the morning, and you're right... AB changed it. She's a blog design genius.
